THE COSMOPOLITAN OF LAS VEGAS ANNOUNCES
JUNE ENTERTAINMENT PERFORMANCES
5/10/2012
Las Vegas (May 10, 2012) –
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas continues its line-up of touring artists at casino floor hotspots Book & Stage, Bond, and The Chandelier with artist residencies through June. All performances are open to the public.
Book & Stage
A polished, masculine and comfortable setting, Book & Stage is a daytime live sports viewing lounge and by evening becomes a music performance-centric venue with popular acts.
The following acts will be performing at Book & Stage:
Allen Stone
From backwoods barbecues and community gatherings, Allen Stone emerges to share personal melodies, telling his tales of life after just 23 years. Getting his start singing at his father's church in small-town America, it wasn't until later when introduced to the greats of soul music (Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin) and then to the confessional lyrical fashion of the '60s – '70s singer/songwriters, did music begin to ignite intense passion, eventually carrying this boy to a musical home. Stone's music is notable for his finely crafted evocative songs and fresh, smooth, soul-filled voice that certainly belies his age.
Friday, June 1 from 9:30PM – 10:15PM and 11:15PM – 12:00AM
Saturday, June 2 from 10:30PM – 12:00AM
Ryan Shaw
Growing up in Decatur, Ga., the only music Ryan Shaw was allowed to hear in his strict churchgoing mother's house was contemporary gospel. The Shaw Boys – there were eight kids in all – sang in a family-oriented Pentecostal church. Now, Ryan Shaw has grown up and released his second full-length album, "Real Love," which includes writing and producing credits as well. This album follows his 2008 debut album, "This Is Ryan Shaw," which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for the song "I Am Your Man."
Tuesday, June 5 – Thursday, June 7 from 10:00PM – 11:00PM and 12:00AM – 1:00AM
Friday, June 8 – Saturday, June 9 from 10:30PM – 12:00AM
Kelley James
On the road or in the studio, music for Kelley James is more than a passion. His reputation for delivering quick-witted lyrics over acoustic guitars, hip-hop beats and freestyle flows has developed a strong following from fans and media alike. Kelley, a California native, has released two full-length records and three EP's.
Tuesday, June 12 – Thursday, June 14 from 10:00PM – 11:00PM and 12:00AM – 1:00AM
Friday, June 15 – Saturday, June 16 from 10:30PM – 12:00AM
Otis Heat
Otis Heat is an alterna-funk rock trio from Portland, Ore., that began as the result of a near-fatal car crash in 2008 between singer-songwriter Sean O'Neill and drummer Adam Lucas in one car, and guitarist Mike Warner in the other. An elusive drifter named Otis Heat rescued the semi-conscious men from their hazardous cars and called for help. Post-crash, the individuals discussed music while lying in hospital beds. After leaving the hospital, O'Neill began playing bass for the band. Lucas departed and new drummer Scotty Gervais joined, bringing a high-octane punch to the group.
Tuesday, June 19 – Thursday, June 21 from 10:00PM – 11:00PM and 12:00AM – 1:00AM
Graffiti6
The unlikely pairing of producer TommyD and singer/songwriter Jamie Scott began as an experiment neither thought would work and has grown into a pop project so refreshingly rule-free, a sense of adventure seeps from every song. Try to categorize Graffiti6 and you're in trouble. You'll certainly spot vintage soul influences, the pair's shared love of Hendrix, folk and funk. You'll hear house and hip hop beats destined to fill dance floors. At the heart of the songs are pop melodies you could sit down with a guitar and strum. But Graffiti6 doesn't make music to be analyzed. From the moment they named their band, the pair's main aim has been to have fun.
Friday, June 22 – Saturday, June 23 from 10:00PM – 11:00PM and 12:00AM – 1:00AM
The Heavy
The Heavy continually cross genres as the unit is proud to be completely musically schizophrenic. From country to rhythm and blues, garage punk to rock and roll, Studio One to the Slums of Shaolin, you'll find that The Heavy are indeed like a pack of chemists with the way that genres get cooked up, blended, stirred and then mixed, to create their own unique style of rock and roll.
Friday, June 29 – Saturday, June 30 from 10:30PM – 12:00AM

Keith began her professional career appearing weekly at the beautiful Madison supper club in Long Beach, CA, where she learned the classic vocal stylings of the jazz and pop singers of the 40's and 50's. She was heavily influenced by leading vocalists of the greatest era of music including Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Keely Smith, Julie London and June Christy. In 2010 The Jennifer Keith Quintet began an engagement every Friday and Saturday night in the Observation Bar aboard the prestigious Queen Mary in Long Beach.
