THE COSMOPOLITAN OF LAS VEGAS ANNOUNCES OCTOBER ENTERTAINMENT PERFORMANCES

LAS VEGAS (October 3, 2011) – The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas continues its line-up of touring artists at its casino floor hot-spots Book & Stage and Bond with artist residencies through October. All performances are open to the public.

Book & Stage
A polished, masculine and comfortable setting, Book & Stage is a daytime live sports viewing lounge and by evening becomes a music performance-centric venue with popular acts.
The following acts will be playing at Book & Stage:

Kings Go Forth
The story of Kings Go Forth starts with Andy Noble, who was born, raised and still lives in Milwaukee. He probably knows more about classic soul, funk and R&B than anyone you’ve ever met. He’s a dedicated record collector, an independent label entrepreneur and the proprietor of the fabled Lotus Land record shop. Andy co-founded KGF with Black Wolf, an immensely talented singer and writer who has performed around Milwaukee since the 1970s. The two met in Andy’s record shop circa 2004 and since then have assembled a powerhouse ten-piece soul unit consisting of seven players and three singers that is simply one of the most thrillingly creative new bands to be heard, in any genre, in the U.S.A. today. There is power in KGF’s multi-ethnic makeup, in their 25 year age span and in their unforced command of the soul music idiom.
Saturday, October 1 from 10:00PM – 11:00PM and 12:00AM – 1:00AM

Kopecky Family Band
Like all families, Kopecky Family Band beats with the same heart and writes in the same blood. 'The Family' began creating music together in Nashville, Tennessee in the Fall of 2007. Leading the family are singers Gabe and Kelsey, along with Steven (lead guitar), Corey (bass), Markus (cello) and David (drums). The music is emotive, and evokes raw honesty and vulnerability, whilst capturing your attention through its unmistakable power and presence. The sounds created by the booming and orchestral-like six-piece challenge the listener’s ear while still offering sweet melodies to sing along with.
Thursday, October 6 – Saturday, October 8 from 10:00PM – 11:00PM and 12:00AM – 1:00AM

Mateo
When Mateo walks onstage, sits at his piano and starts one of his heartfelt songs it's clear that this is an artist on a mission. It's no coincidence that Mateo lists Ms. Lauryn Hill, India Arie, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, and Robin Thicke as influences but he's also quick to give a nod to alternative acts such as Radiohead, Coldplay, Daft Punk and Kanye West. "Everything is merging together, and I like that in my music; a mixture rather than one flavor only; R&B/Pop/Alternative/Soul—Urban Mod—if you want to pick a new genre."
Wednesday, October 12 – Saturday, October 15 from 10:00PM – 11:00PM and 12:00AM – 1:00AM

Lady Dottie and the Diamonds
An Alabama-bred fireball, Lady Dottie is a soulful woman in her early 60s named Dorothy Mae Whitsett. Singing everywhere from the kitchen to the pulpit, she’s curvier than Lombard and got more gumption than a pack of wolves. She's a tambourine-toting, hip gyrating powerhouse with a sultry voice that will leave you trembling.
Wednesday, October 19 – Saturday, October 22 from 10:00PM – 11:00PM and 12:00AM – 1:00AM

Nick Waterhouse
Nick Waterhouse is the New Breed - An R&B fanatic who combines an uncanny old-school sensibility with a charged, contemporary style. Having just turned 25, he joins the ranks of a growing cabal of similar acts and producers of recent times that are all moving forward into the past, yet all quite different. His muse is the over-modulated sound of vintage R&B, and his take on such a time-honored tradition evokes the back-alley thrill of New Orleans, Detroit and Memphis in their heyday. He combines an astute attention to detail with an honest desire to match the emotional impact of the music that inspires him.
Monday, October 24 – Wednesday, October 26 from 10:00PM – 11:00PM and 12:00AM – 1:00AM

Austin Brown
Austin Brown is a 25-year-old musician, singer, performer, producer, dancer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. He comes from one of the world's greatest musical families, the Jacksons, around whom he has grown up and developed his musical talents. In time, family members and friends started to call him "Pookie," and for some friends, that's all they know David as. Music has always played a big part in Pookie's life, starting out young with keyboard, piano, guitar and leading up to turntables, synthesizers and computer production.
