BEAUTY & ESSEX: A NEW RESTAURANT COMES TO VEGAS

Just opened at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Beauty & Essex is a partnership with TAO Group and acclaimed chef personality and restaurateur Chris Santos. Beauty & Essex is currently one of the most popular dining destinations on the Lower East Side in New York City.

Since opening in 2010 in New York City, this multi-level restaurant and lounge revolutionized dining in that neighborhood with Chef Santos’s unique brand of innovative, communal share plates and stylish design. The highly anticipated arrival of Beauty & Essex serves as the next chapter in The Cosmopolitan’s ever-evolving culinary story.

RESTAURANT WEEK

Beauty & Essex is proud to participate in Three Square's Restaurant Week from Monday, June 19 – Friday, June 30. This two-week event benefits the community's largest food bank, which feeds nearly 100,000 men, women, children, and seniors in Las Vegas each month. Participating restaurants create special menus to offer guests with a portion of the proceeds being donated to Three Square.

Dinner | $50

  • First Course: Choice of Tuna Poke Poke Taco (with chiffonade cilantro, radish, wasabi kewpie), Avocado Toast (with Avocado, Lemon, & Espelette Toast), Wedge Salad (with point reyes blue cheese, tomato, crispy pancetta)
  • Second Course: Choice of Garganelli Bolognese (with sweet & spicy lamb bolognese, whipped ricotta), Street Thai BBQ Chicken (with lemongrass parsnip purée, pickled carrot, mango), Grilled Atlantic Salmon (with sherry vinegar, pearl couscous, red chard & celery root purée)
  • Third Course: Choice of "Les, NYC" Doughnuts (with dark chocolate fudge, berry & caramel sauces), Black Bottomed Butterscotch Pot de Crème (with coconut chantilly)

CHEF BIO: CHRIS SANTOS

Chris Santos

Chef Chris Santos has over twenty years of experience honing his culinary craft as an executive chef in New York City’s hottest restaurants.

In 2005, Chef Santos introduced the world to his unique brand of communal dining with his debut restaurant, The Stanton Social. Inspired by Santos’s own world travels, The Stanton Social’s multi-cultural menu, designed for sharing, made for experiential dining as entertaining as it was delicious. The New York Times praised Santos's innovative talent for tweaking traditional classics with an “infectious playfulness.”

In December 2010, Chef Santos welcomed Beauty & Essex to the Lower East Side. With an actual pawnshop entrance, the design transformed a turn-of-the-century townhouse into a seductive, bi-level restaurant and lounge. Beauty & Essex was named OpenTable’s Hottest Restaurant in America in both 2012 and 2013.

Throughout his career, Santos has appeared as a guest chef on NBC’s Today Show, CBS’s Early Show, The Martha Stewart Show, and The Rachael Ray Show. Most famously, he is a resident judge on the Food Network’s most popular hit series, “Chopped,” and he has recently become a City Harvest board member. Santos has served as a repeat guest chef at The White House and Camp David, and has been a brand ambassador for Jägermeister and Morningstar Farms.
